eBook Errors

1. "Page Cannot Be Displayed" - with a message like:
   res://shdoclc/syntax.htm#e-book://
   
   This message has been received by a few customers who have upgraded to WINDOWS XP Service Pack 2 - it seems there are some bugs in this Microsoft release which don't let eBooks run, Microsoft is aware of the problem, but while we wait for their fix, we have secured rights to distribute the following utility which solves this problem.

   Extract this file to place where you can easily access it.
   Then use the button; "Push Here To Fix".
   
   
   Choose "Save".

Unzip The Files In order to reduce the file size of our products before distribution it is compressed using a utility called WinZip®. In order to use the our products you will need to “Un-Zip” them. Freetrial versions of the WinZip utility are available at http://www.winzip.com Note: Windows XP has built in support for zipped files.

2. When trying to print a document, the printing goes off the end of the page.
   
   Solution: When you choose print change the setting from 'Portrait' to 'Landscape'.
    

3. When you click on a .pdf file to download, nothing happens or you get a message saying file is corrupt or not able to open:
   You need to have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, please visit www.adobe.com to download, this is free.

   If you still have problems try right clicking on the download link on the download page and choosing "Save Target As" to save to your hard disk (note where you put it !). Then use Start, Programs ,Adobe Acrobat Reader and the then File, Open to open the PDF file from the location you just saved it to. Sometimes the 'plug-in' part of Adobe which tries to open PDF files within a browser window fails in their upgrade process, by saving the file and opening this way you are not using Internet Explorer which solves the bug.
   
   If you have a slow dialup internet connection your system may appear to hang but still be downloading. Double click on your connection icon and see if the Bytes Received counter is still going up - if so it's still downloading.
    

4. Cannot "Copy" from the eBook. Some eBooks do not permit copying from them, this is a criteria set by individual authors.
    

5. How to download a eBook or file.
   
   Windows: Left click on the link.
   
   A file download box will appear; choose "SAVE".
   
   
   
   Next Choose the location of where you want to save the file to.
   We suggest you save it to a location where you can easily find it such as your desktop or My Documents.
   
   
   
   You may also "RIGHT CLICK" the link and choose "Save Target As".
